Greetings....this is to say hello to everybody on this forum and provide a little background on myself. I'm a 56 year old white male, originally from the Northeast USA, who has been a dedicated fan of music genres such as doo-wop, 50s r&b, orchestral pop, jazz vocal, folk rock, sunshine pop, psychedelia, bubblegum, early country rock and also much difficult-to-classify stuff from the 70s. Even though I came of age in the 80s, I never really felt an affinty for the music of my generation, although I do like a small amount of material from that time (and the 90s and early 21st century). If I had to name my favorite bands & artists, the list would include moby grape (my all-time favorite), buffalo springfield, jefferson airplane, the grateful dead, the byrds, the monkees, the flying burrito brothers, peanut butter conspiracy, fairport convention (with sandy denny), tim buckley, laura nyro, the allman brothers, delaney & bonnie and friends, big star, the new york dolls, steely dan, the modern lovers, jackson browne and warren zevon. Also forgot to mention that 60s garage rock is one of my favorite genres. Of course Im a longtime major fan of the beach boys 🙂 and love most of their stuff up to about 1979. In my opinion, LA (light album) was their last truly worthwhile effort, but your mileage may vary..lol. Anyway, I've been reading this board for quite some time and finally decided to add my "two cents" as it were. It's a pleasure to be here among some of the absolute most knowledgeable BB authorities and writers and people who actually worked with the group. For those who might be wondering, my fave BB albums are, in chronological order: Today, Pet Sounds, 20/20, Sunflower, Love You, LA (light album) and The Smile Sessions. I do also love certain songs from other BB albums.
