In disbelief you rub your eyes Convinced it's a mirage You never thought you'd see again My strange blue-veined visage
"Good Lord, it's him!", you cry aloud "That dear old Iron Horse" "I felt for sure he'd been put down" "But look, he stayed the course!"
You close your eyes and soon recall A much more happy time When we were typing merrily On 'Smiley' in it's prime
When Ghost was haunting with his posts And Doe was still a hero Where ol' Phil Cohen ran amok And Runners all dialled zero
But what is this? A brave new board A cause for celebration Where one can post free from the fear Of fascist moderation
Once more unto the Beach Boy's breach Into the past we delve And once again we'll party like We're back in 2012

Great! So please introduce yourself to the masses. By the way, who ran the iron horse?

Well, I've been a devotee of the Beach Boys / Brian Wilson since June 6th 1988 (I can be specific due to diary entries). This was shortly after renting out the Surfer Girl Long Player from my local library. I was quickly moved to begin composing and recording music, in particular Smile-esque concept albums. I am currently working on my seventh album which is a virtual reality concept album called Space Explorer. This work forms the basis of my PhD in music production which I am undertaking at the University of York. In 2004 I realised a lifelong dream when I chatted with Brian about the weather (I'm British) when I was invited backstage at a BW concert in Liverpool. This was after sending Darien Sahanaja a copy of my third album The Wrong Button which he much admired. I've been a member of various fan communities over the years, starting with the blueboard in 2000. Iron Horse-Apples was my main moniker at the SS board during its golden age. My real name is Stephen Newcombe

Great to see you here, Iron Horse-Apples. Do you have any recent recordings you’d like to share, would love to hear them if yes! Welcome and enjoy! Thanks Al. I'll put some pf my newer stuff on the relevant board section soon. In the meantime there is a link to my Wrong Button album, (very Smile) in my previous post above. An oldie but goody. It got passed around Brian's band and I received a lot of very positive feedback, (particularly from Darian, Nelson and Probyn if I recall). It's both a harrowing and comical account of the last time I ever took acid way back in '96. It was one of those life defining moments, and not in a good way! Enjoy kids, and stay off the drugs!

Stephen Newcombe! Yeah, I remember you from the other bored. Do you feel like a refugee? Thanks for the introductions. Welcome to the Endless Harmony Forum! Hi Mikie, remember you too. SS died a slow, lingering death, a shame as it was great back in it's heyday. I posted very intermittently towards the end. I got banned when, during a heated volley of exchanges I questioned whether some of the members (a certain mod in particular) may be autistic. Not cool of me, and I probably deserved the ban. We live and learn. In my defence, I was working with young people who were on the spectrum at that time, and I did recognise some of the traits in certain posters. Particularly the complete inability to see another person's point of view. In my opinion that's what killed the board. Again though, I shouldn't have said it. When you work in certain, stressful professions however, the inclination to use gallows humour does tend to manifest.
