Well done for having Giggens on as a guest. One of my fave people in this sphere. Great, enthusiastic fella! By the way, I’m listening to every podcast as you ‘n’ Lisa put ‘em out. Great stuff!

I never heard of the guy until they recently had him on Sail On, TBH. But...wondering why he was brought up as if he were *our* guest on Tune X...

It’s May 16 and time for episode 9. Gee, what topic do you THINK this married couple is going to talk about? Well…if you still can’t guess, then… Pet Sounds. Given that an entire encyclopedia could be made about the revolutionary album, Lisa and Sean decided to narrow the scope a bit. They start with a bit of discussion about their experiences with the 1990 CD. Also, they have some experience that not a heck of a lot of people have been through: they actually got to be part of a performance of the album in front of a paying audience, and they talk about their experiences. A splendid time is guaranteed for all. This is the BEST trip we’ve ever been on.

Episode 10: We’re on safari to stay! We swear, we did not intend to time the release of this episode so that it lands on Brian Wilson’s birthday; we recorded this in late May and just…got hung up in post production. But here we are now, as summer is about to begin, as we discuss not one, not two, but eight records’ worth of music: four classic double-album Beach Boys compilations that arguably may have paved the way for the reissue of Sounds of Summer. Ninety-six songs covering the best of a mere eighteen-year period!

Another fun listen. I listened to it on my morning walk to work and then finished listening to it when I got here. Mucho enjoyable, as per normal.
.. really can't wait to listen to your 'Sounds of Summer' episode.

We clearly said we're not getting SOS though, so...then again, I am going to keep an eye out at the library to see if they ever get it; I am curious. If I can convince the Mrs. to give it a listen, we'll consider.

Episode 13: I’m a Leaf on a windy day.
DAVID Leaf, that is! In this episode of Tune X Podcast, Lisa and Sean share their observations on Leaf’s newest update to his classic book, God Only Knows: The Story of Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys & the California Myth.
(David has heard this episode and gave us his thumbs up. ***egoboost!***)

Episode 16: I'm pickin' up good vibrations. A little over a year ago, we discussed some of the, well…not great…moves and decisions that The Beach Boys made over the years. This time, however, we're going in the opposite direction. What did they get right? Drop in on our conversation in which we discuss just a handful of the good things that The Beach Boys have done. Some you may disagree with, but we're sure you'll find some common ground! banana-and-louie.org/2023/04/07/episode-16-im-pickin-up-good-vibrations/

Yes, some of us do listen on YouTube. I pay my $12 per month for commercial-free. So that's where I sit on the controversary. Of course, I do also check in here.
Just watched a Pop Goes the 60s with Matt. He just started a Jefferson Airplane story. If you haven't seen his excellent shows, do check him out. Matt does well researched uploads. I have never seen him make a mistake.
And why don't you do this with a video? Would keep things a bit more interesting. Visuals of posters and photos add a lot to a show.

The YouTube stuff actually does include videos and photos where apropos (and depending on how un-lazy I'm feeling at the time!), and some captions that include clarifications and corrections. That's one bonus, I guess, that you'd get from YouTube as opposed to just listening to the audio.

Episode 17: You invite me to pick up my award. In this long-overdue episode, Lisa and Sean discuss the recent GRAMMY Salute to The Beach Boys aired this spring in celebration of the band's 60th anniversary, and the baffling ignorance shown by the Recording Academy's shortsightedness in recognizing The Beach Boys and other bands over the years. And while we're at it, we take a look at 25 Years Together: A Celebration in Waikiki. banana-and-louie.org/2023/08/02/episode-17-you-invite-me-to-pick-up-my-award/

I must (once again?) commend you for the high production quality. Very professional both in terms of audio and content. One feels proud as a Beach Boys fan when there are podcasts of this quality available. I think it would be fun to hear your thoughts and memories from the time when, for example, the "Good Vibrations", "The Smile Sessions," and "Made In California" box sets were released. Just a thought… Regardless of what you do in the future, I know it will be great!

Episode 18: I gave you everything I had, but you left me sitting on my own. While on a weekend trip to Harbor Country USA, Sean and Lisa took some time to discuss a topic they've been tossing around since long before this podcast was even thought of: that sensitive topic of...Beatles envy. It can't be denied that the jealousy is there; even Brian Wilson himself said that when The Beatles arrived in America, "We were jealous as hell." Is the jealousy warranted? Did The Beach Boys still stand tall on their own? The world may never know. banana-and-louie.org/2023/09/30/episode-18-i-gave-you-everything-i-had-but-you-left-me-sitting-on-my-own/

Episode 19: And if you hap...happen to be listening... Because Lisa and Sean felt the need to talk about The Beach Boys and record the conversation, here is episode 19. Life got in the way of the episode being released in a timely manner after recording, but they look back on Beach Boysy things that happened in 2023 (including memories of Jeffrey Foskett) and talk about their hopes for Beach Boysy things in 2024. banana-and-louie.org/2024/01/17/episode-19-and-if-you-hap-happen-to-be-listening/
