Howdy philip.
I remember way back when you corrected/filled-in Priore's incomplete quoting of Brian from KHJ's History of R&R (on the Whiteboard?).
If I've got the right persons and board and special.

Was similar here in the Dales yesterday – motorcycles especially have a different definition of "essential travel" and "exercise" – but it's pissing down today and they've all dissolved.

Hi Philip and welcome aboard! I was in Penzance in June 2018 to take the ferry to St Mary's in the Scilly Isles. In fact the last afternoon of our holiday was spent in Penzance, in a pub near the station, along the main street I believe. You probably know which one I mean... Nice place.

Probably the Longboat pub, it's just across from the station, or maybe the One And All, they're the two nearest.

We were instructed to leave our luggage there, so I stayed with it (not entirely empty-handed) while my wife did a spot of shopping. St. Mary's was great--no idea if we'll ever be back to check out the other islands...

2 philip: Did you read "Rebecca"? Book's characters live in Cornwall. Alfred Hitchcock adapted it - film "Rebecca". Best adaptation is 1979 TV featuring Jeremy Brett (Max De Winter).

Honestly, Philip, you don't surf, you haven't read Daphne du Maurier, how can we really know you live in Cornwall? Next thing, you'll be saying you don't watch Poldark and you've never eaten a Cornish pasty!

I have failed badly at being a cornishman [I'm Lancastrian by birth, lived here for 23 years though]. You're right, never watched Poldark but as there is a pasty shop less than 5 minutes from home I won't deny partaking in the delicacy every now and then

Not that it matters (except to the odd geriatric) but after a long slog through the memory banks I think the poster I accused you of being was actually "phlip". Does that sound right Mikie?
Welcome and carry on.

Welcome and carry on. That's correct, Cam. Phlip use to post on the Cabinessence board and was from the U.S. Philip is from the U.K. Two different blokes.
