Apparently the title has already been purloined and this 6CD box set is now out there. Totally illegit of course and bearing scant resemblance to the set we’re patiently awaiting. Caveat emptor.
"Out there" is probably a stretch. I'm guessing this is just a fan-made, online-only compilation that had a lot of time put into it. Reminds me of my Reverberation: The Sunflower Sessions "six-disc boxset" I did for my (thankfully, now-defunct) blog way back when... Nope, it’s a physical set, proper CDs in a proper box. That’s according to the compulsive completist pal of mine who lives just up the coast and who sent me the scans.

Yup. My attention was drawn to it by a very good man across the pond - it was on eBay.com; last time I was able to view it, two copies had sold, two remaining, but it then disappeared. Suspect someone reported it and eBay pulled it. Haven’t seen it on any of the boot sites I know of.

Didn’t buy a copy, before anyone asks.

Howie Edelson posted this at the Smiley board very recently:
Wonder if that means all the band members (read BRI members) have signed off every aspect of the box and that the road is now clear for an unimpeded release?
Will a sessionography be included, Craig?

Will a sessionography be included, Craig? Initially I don't think I was as enthralled with the prospect of this box set as some as I'm not especially keen on the '69-'73 era, but these periodic updates from Mssr. Edelson are really peaking my curiousity. I'm familiar with the gentleman through his work on the Fabcast, which is far and away the best Beatles podcast I've ever heard. He definitely knows what he's talking about when it comes to the Beatles, so I imagine his take here has to be pretty spot on as I know he's also a big Beach Boys/Brian guy.

I guess, therefore, that it now needs to be saved from withering on the vine for a third time.
After all, if it doesn’t get scheduled for release, then it can never forever change the way The Beach Boys are viewed as a musical entity at the turn of the decade. I’m 100% certain it’d be that good, but without the release it cannot live up to its potential of being THAT important.
How the heck can we help bring about its release?

I can't even listen to Sunflower and Surf's Up right now because I am not at home to access the CDs and neither are on Spotify. I'd been thinking of this as a blessing so that I could approach the Feel Flows set fresh, but now... (Yes I guess I could buy from iTunes or similar).

This band is so frustrating. Why spend the time and money to assemble this only to have it sit on a shelf? The only reason that I can think of is personal financial interests in the project.

Stebbins on the other board: "I find it amazing reading through this thread that so many people have learned nothing about this band's fatal flaw...which historically is of course themselves. And definitely not all of them. Howie laid it all out for you in big flashing letters, but some people are still stumbling around, confused, wondering if it's Covid-19, or marketing, or the label that's holding this up. Jesus, c'mon people. Look at the f'n history of this band. Read Howie's posts because he knows everything. He can't name names because he's a professional with bridges intact and trying his best to keep them that way. This box could have been released months ago. It could have a solid release date right now. It's ready. We want it. The label wants it. But that can't happen because the circular firing squad is doing their thing ...again. It's often a one or two man circular firing squad BTW. People have written chapters in book's about it. Maybe this will get worked out, it doesn't look great right now. But if you wonder why? Look at the history of the band, the answer is obvious. Finding a way to f*** up a beautiful thing. It's in the DNA of the Beach Boys."

We just have to hope that they will fix their ‘things’ for this release. Finger crossed.

Instead of holding out hope for this thing, we should just accept that this group is always going to do what they do. What we do have is 3 excellent albums, and one fairly good one, to listen to and remind ourselves how good this band was in the early 70s. Add in the live album...yes, i still love the Beach Boys - the band. Not the people in it.

Hopefully the release will happen at some point.
I'm not going to get too worked up about it, as us fans have been spoilt by the number of rarities that have been issued over the last couple of decades or so.

Thank you for kindly taking the time to do that. However I wasn't commenting on whether you would be able to find them. Spotify Canada which I am using doesn't have them. I wonder if people in the US can access them? Pro tip: step 2 should not be necessary. -- I'll continue my Sunflower/Surf's Up hiatus a little longer in the hope that this box makes it out.

Heard today from "a guy that knows a guy" that the set is currently stalling due to what was described as "internal conflicts". Whether or not this is due to group conflicts or label issues relating to the ongoing pandemic is up in the air (I'm personally going with the latter). If I had to guess, we can probably shoot for a Winter 2020 release at this point. Uh-oh. Seems it was the former and still unresolved 3 months later.

If I had to guess now, I'd probably shoot for another bare minimum release this December (i.e. Untitled #3, You Never Give Me Your Money rehearsal, Fred Vail's country album, Sweet and Bitter, Seasons in the Sun, Big Sur, My Solution, and anything else required to put out by the end of the year), with the boxset ( hopefully) coming in 2021. At this point, with all of these films, events, etc. being delayed to 2021, I wouldn't mind waiting for the new year to get the new set. Just as long as it, y'know, actually comes out.

That is just an odd anomaly then I guess...I had wrongly suspected that those albums might have been pulled in advance of the associated material getting the box set treatment. And I'm pretty sure those albums have been gone for months here.
