As if we needed to guess, the colours themselves inform the timeline here, and this just oozes 60s. Never knowingly underdressed, and sporting the most impressive mutton-chop sideburns of the age, the supremely talented Terry Kirkman leads on his own composition, my all time favourite from this band.

Bear with me, I'm rediscovering Sparks. Hadn't heard much from them since the late '70s.
They have been developing quite well since I last listened. First up, one that is in my Top
10 of what I've found so far...

Believe they really do love Todd.

First up, one that is in my Top 10 of what I've found so far... Love Sparks, what I've heard of them--and they've recorded a lot. "I Married Myself" and "Wunderbar" are two firm favourites of mine. I was long fascinated by the personality and music of Antony Hegarty (aka Antony and the Johnsons). After losing touch with what AH was doing, I hear they've transitioned and are now Anohni. In another connection with the OP, I see on the band's wiki page that in 2012 she released a track called "Future Feminism", "which consists of a speech in which Anohni disparages patriarchal religions and advocates for a shift towards feminine systems of governance as part of an effort to avert global ecological disaster". This is "Drone Bomb Me", the opening track from her 2016 album Hopelessness, which I'll be investigating over the coming days: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopelessness_(album)

I don't know if you like listening to music in other languages. If so, you must listen to this guy: Litus. He's a singer, songwriter, musical theatre actor from Spain. I discovered him last year and I've been since obsessed with his songs and his voice.
His latest album "Hablo tu idioma pero no lo entiendo" ("I speak your language but I don't understand it") is excellent:

I think we could all do with rediscovering these boys. Sorry for being so unoriginal but this is the obvious choice, because it was when they arrived on the scene in Europe in spectacular fashion. I just love this clip because it looks like the first time that they had appeared on German TV in 1974, and nobody in the audience knows what the hell is going on. They all look very uncomfortable, and I'm certain it was Ron and his 'tache that was unsettling them. The first YouTube comment is absolute class.

And Ron speaks about his walks in the park with Brian Wilson (Ron laps him):

Silken, welcome back.
Are you familiar with this band from '60s Buenos Aires? A friend in Cordoba sent me their album many years ago and I just love it. Mostly pop, but touches of jazz and latin rhythms. This one has always been my favourite, a gentle vocal from the late, great Luis Alberto Spinetta. Hints of Strawberry Fields in the sparse instrumental backing:

Hi Pete! I know Almendra and Spinetta of course, but I don't like their of music.

I remember another great comment about "This Town..." from the video of their performance on TOTP. Somebody's younger brother rushed in from the TV room shouting, "Hitler's on the telly and he's looking really weird!"

Going to start out with some songs I was playing about 1am this morning. All three are from the Quite City sessions from 2001? Who knows exactly when they were recorded - takes them forever to get stuff released.
That's Nigel Thomas on lead vocal, and he plays most of the instruments. I believe Paul plays acoustic guitar (IIRC).

This is my favorite from the album. Paul seems very inspired by Nigel's songs.

Not this again. I'll have to check that code and try again later.
. Our forum is not video friendly sometimes.
2nd try. Technically Paul is doing a cover, though he plays some guitar on a few of the songs. Nigel Thomas wrote the album, and played most of the instruments.
Something I found last hour. Paul and Jools cover John.

I'm listening to Michael Shelley interview Rocky Pamphlin on WFMU, FM. Quite an interview!

the first released version. Sam held on this for a long while
before putting it on Weed Garden.
I'll try to find a different source. Sam originally sold the song to the Texas tourism board. The AVClub had it up for years.
this is from 2013, the first year he played it live:

I'm about to go listening again... as it seems my codes will not work this morning. EDIT: Just noticed what you said. No, don't think I want to hear any comments from that creep.

Some late 70's fire! Unimaginably exciting for a fan!
Dennis at the piano! Next to the great Billy Hinsche! We need a photo of Billy on this board. SVP
