The pic of Brian in the pool with the gold record is just flat out iconic. As a kid, seeing that in the Leaf book, just personified the lifestyle for me!

Here's one that came up on Twitter the other day that perplexed me a little. What do their shirts say? I don't remember ever seeing them play in matching T-shirts before? 1965, Memorial Coliseum, Portland OR Here's that shirt again:

Interesting-mike must have liked the shirt because that photo was taken about three months later

Here's a photo of Brian and his mother during the period when Brian wasn't allowed to have any contact with his family.

Someone pointed out that the shirt has the Indianapolis radio station wife not Portland kisn-so these photos are not January 27 1965 but maybe May 22 1965 when Bruce was with them in Indiana (the photos in my book feature Brian wearing the Oregon shirt but the shirt is very similar other then the station call letters

Many years ago, I was told by a reliable source that after this photo was taken, Brian got out of the pool, walked to the closest wall and smashed the disc against it.

That sketch of Brian in 1964 eerily foreshadows what he would eventually look like.

Never saw this one before of Jeff Lynne and Brian. They coulda made a whole album together if it weren't for Landy's shenanigans.

Is that Evan Landy with them?

T-shirts and sweat shirts were given as promo items with a "good guy" style drawing as seen here.

Is that Evan Landy with them? Yes, the photo was taken from an article about Evan and his father.

That photo of Brian with the gold record seemed to be the first published photo of Brian since the cover of Holland, and I was mildly shocked when I saw it.

You may have to click to enlarge....always seems to happen if I insert a pic.

Does this mean there were alternate dust cover versions of Brian's '91 "autobio"? Interesting! Never seen those, and neither are the photo used on my copy. There is a number, 1091P, on the inside flap. The jacket was designed by Suzanne Noli. The photos by Mark Hanauer.

As Ian pointed out those are "Good Guys" shirts. I'm more familiar with the WMCA version here in the NY/NJ area. Re-creations are still available online: www.zazzle.com/wmca_good_guys_t_shirt-235639678967065381

No, but I know who's holding Tommy Tedesco! Actually, Mr. Tedesco might be holding a 1960's Danelectro 7010 Bellzouki 12-string guitar.
