Wow, that's a powerful and unusual picture; thanks for sharing. Look at the waves reflected in his sunglasses! But heartbreaking to see him like that really and especially to think that it's his final photo

Cool caption, but I don't think that's the song they're playing here...Terry Kath played bass on that song, plus he looks way more energetic than I would expect him to be on that particular number.

Every time I listen to "Wishing You Were Here", I try to imagine a 1974/75 Dennis Wilson lead vocal (the Terry Kath part) with Carl Wilson singing the bridge (the Peter Cetera part). "Wishing You Were Here" was tailor-made for a Beach Boys' song. Even the waves at the beginning of the song...

Ah, the days when people actually dressed UP for airline travel!

I think there's a good chance that this, and the corresponding photo of Dennis at the upright piano printed in the same Rolling Stone issue, could be from the session for "Wouldn't It Be Nice To Live Again".

Brian watching the Beach Boys from the side of the stage as they play his and Al's alma mater, El Camino Community College, in 1994.

That kid in the teal shirt is very engaged...I think Brian looks proud but taking it all in and missing nothing.
Looks to me like one of those "full circle" moments. He had been back onstage performing with the band - interesting, that he sat this one out.

Ah, the days when people actually dressed UP for airline travel! They may have just arrived, but it's clearly some sort of WEA coordinated reception. Check out the America and Paul Butterfield albums conveniently displayed. Also Marilyn and Audrey are holding copies of the Marcella single. It looks like it's more of a promotional/publicity event where band and management were there meeting local label reps and journalists.

I think that photo of Brian in the audience is from the August 1994 show in el Camino college that he attended but didn’t play at

I think that photo of Brian in the audience is from the August 1994 show in el Camino college that he attended but didn’t play at Yes, exactly - he hadn't played onstage with the band in four years, and it wouldn't be until the following spring that he joined them onstage again. Baby steps, I guess.
