Doesn't look like I will be seeing the Boys this year. The Puyallup Fair has announced a bunch of bands, but so far, no Beach Boys. Can I say again how ridiculous concert prices are? The last two years, I got to see Mike and the band for $35. That was the lowest price show in the whole month of the fair. Everything else is $70 and above, and there are very, very few acts I would pay that much money to say. I'd pay that for a reunited Beach Boys if there was a way to bring back Carl and Dennis. It would be nice if Al made it up to the Pacific Northwest, but most touring artists see us as being too remote, too far to travel to, unless, again, if they are stadium acts like the Stones, Who and McCartney.

Doesn't look like I will be seeing the Boys this year. The Puyallup Fair has announced a bunch of bands, but so far, no Beach Boys. It's still early in the year. They were in Northern Cal last week. They usually come back through the Bay Area in September (Saratoga Mountain Winery) and I wouldn't be surprised if the schedule included Oregon and/or Washington at that point.

They're in the very far southeast corner of the state at the end of August. Can't imagine they'll be back after that. Maybe I'll make the 400 mile drive to Walla Walla.

I was chatting with Christian Love on the cruise and he told me that they were hoping for the UK this year but said those plans were squashed. I'm assuming that would include anything overseas.

This is likely not news to many of you and perhaps you've seen the performance before, but this is the first time I had heard the Here Comes the Sun arrangement. Going to have to hear it again because it was pleasant and enjoyable and meaningful but I want to hear it more. This was in lieu of Pisces Brothers I suspect. It escapes me now because I wasn't taking any notes, but I don't think there was any sail on Sailor and there was certainly no mention of the six album release. Perhaps someone else who was there remembers more precisely or wrote down the setlist, which I did not. NewBBfan - Great hanging out with you at the bar after the March 16 concert at Pechanga Casino, enjoying a couple Old Fashioneds while discussing the music and history of The Beach Boys. Sail on Sailor was not performed, nor do I recall any mention of the new SoS release. Casinos typically request shorter performances so as to get the attendees back out to the slots and gaming tables. Here the's the setlist:

Wow that set list is funny-basically nothing from post 1968 except Kokomo-a bit odd after the recent boxes that we have enjoyed. But you said this set is a bit shorter for the casino crowd right?

Other than the mellow Here Comes the Sun it was really an intense pedal to the metal rocking show. Just non-stop energy even in the ballads and what an incredible experience. The greatest Beach Boy show I ever saw and it ranks above the reunion shows for simple intensity and the closeness of my seat and the focused energy. Might be different if I were in the first 10 or so rows at one of those reunion shows but never was really that close up front. The greatness of the reunion shows is seeing the original Beach Boys together so that's a completely different sort of historical experience. But a show as a show as a show this one could not be beat.

I think that set is pretty standard for a Mike & Bruce 95 minute show. When they played a theater show recently and had a bit more time, they also played It's OK, Forever, Sail on Sailor, Getcha Back and a couple of covers from Mike's solo album. Disney Girls is also still heard occasionally.

Yeah…16 of the songs are from the 1962-64 period! That set list is certainly full of great tunes don’t get me wrong but it’s a bit of a conservative set list-nothing too adventurous or off the beaten path. I know though that is what most of the people that come to see them want but if I went to the show I’d want to hear some more off beat tracks-such as wonderful, wake the world, all I want to do, California saga, This is That, everyone’s in love with you. Hell at 82 Mike should play sumahama! That would be great and totally unexpected!

It's a read the room situation. Many people go to the casino to stay over and they have no idea what show is on and then they're told that the desk that there is a Beach Boys show and they try to get tickets; they may r vaguely remember them from childhood or some sort of Mythology and they're not there to hear deep Cuts because they don't necessarily know what a deep cut is. Fewer people are in the category of me and custom machine who plan in advance to be there and to be part of it in a deeply involved way. I talked to dozens and dozens of people in the lobby and in the seats and no one could have told you what the names of any of the Beach Boys are or who was in the band or any detail like that but they did laugh and dance and scream when they heard the songs they recognized. For many of those people this is part of their night out not the telos of their trip.

It's not funny at all. It's basically the same set I saw them do at the fair last year. I have yet to see a show where Bruce sang Disney Girls; and all the Feel Flows material was gone from the setlist last year. I feel lucky I got to see them do (in 2021) Add Some Music, Feel Flows, It's About Time and All I Wanna Do. That was probably the last time that kind of material was played; unless Mike is still on the road in 2026 and there's a deluxe box of 15 Big Ones material. Everyone's In Love with You? TM Song? Had to Phone Ya?
