My parent’s live 50 minutes from there, so I almost bought tickets. Glad I didn’t. I suspect that Covid wasn’t the only reason for the cancellation given the spotty attendance in KC for The Beach Boys.

Plant City Strawberry Festival concert review: This was a short, non-stop 1:15 set as there was another band following. Tickets only $30 so a bargain. Mostly early stuff and 3 from PS. The pandemic song was decent as they really rocked it. California Sun off of Mike's album was great. Brian Eichenberger and Christian Love did a great job. Sax player was awesome! I presume it was local Scott Toten's daughter on stage with him part of the time. Mike was in great voice, and his few quips were locally appropriate and hilarious. He even joked about Stamos and his mom- then denied the whole thing! Still awesome to hear Bruce do his parts in CG. I think he did the lead in Do You Want to Dance as well. All in all, the band sounded younger, sang better, and were likely rested, compared to the St. Pete show in Feb. 2020- which was still a good show. It was awesome to see young kids, teenagers, and the elderly all up and dancing. Great and energetic crowd, and the whole deal was awesome and uplifting especially with all of the recent atrocities. These guys are getting really old, so go see them while you can!

A new date:
May 8 - Los Angeles County Fair, Pomona CA
... and two postponements
April 15 - Casino Rama Entertainment Centre, Orillia ON, Canada [postponed to October 21st] 16 - Casino Rama Entertainment Centre, Orillia ON [postponed to October 22nd] Those last two postponements make any full-on 60th anniversary tour increasingly unlikely.

It would be really classy (albeit unlikely) for all of the Boys to make time to show for this gig. Jeffrey is a longtime friend & band member + this is an extremely worthy cause.

This YouTube site has a lot of videos from recent Beach Boys cruise. Per the setlist site, the band performed two concerts. The first concert setlist looks pretty standard. The second concert seems to have a few slightly deeper tracks. Just FYI.

Saw this and just shook my head in amazement and incredulity . . . Why is Mark McGrath there? His sleigh bells were out of tempo, and he just ran around.

Most BB fans don't have a very high opinion of John Stamos. However...

Most BB fans don't have a very high opinion of John Stamos. However... I've never understood that with so called 'Beach Boys fans'. John has played a very important role in the groups career at a time when the group needed it. He has probably done them more favors than anybody when it comes to the exposing the group to a new crowd. When you think about it, the guy has been a strong ambassador for The Beach Boys for nearly 40 years now! That's a great pic right there.

He has probably done them more favors than anybody when it comes to the exposing the group to a new crowd. When you think about it, the guy has been a strong ambassador for The Beach Boys for nearly 40 years now! That's a great pic right there. He did give the band, millions in free publicity in almost all his sitcoms when they were not getting a lot of steam in the media. I know of no one who has done that. Hollywood is a pretty greedy place and it is a “Me-1st” place. But John found a way to bring his favorite band along for the ride. Those shows are still generating income on global syndication and some are on youtube which is its own income stream. My kids were brainwashed naturally because I was a fan and had a captive audience, but it was reinforced by Uncle Jesse. He made them cool again for those generations going back for the last nearly 40 years. I think he is terrific. Every show I have seen, when he was there, he took some developmentally delayed person for the thrill of their life, on stage to “play his guitar” - that is kindness personified. And, that is a tremendous photo; thank you Andrew for sharing it. Jeff is looking “good, pretty pretty good,” as Larry David would say. 😂

Three new dates in May: 25th-27th - Schermerhorn Symphony Center, Nashville TN [w/Nashville Symphony] I am a moron. Was wondering why it was tacked on the end of the 2022 touring list. Maybe because... these dates are in 2023 ?
