Currently, Sounds Of Summer is sitting at #113 on the Billboard Top 200 albums, having (re)entered said chart for the eleventh time on 16th March. It's also at #20 in the Catalog Chart too ! For those who are counting, that's a chart history of over 57 years - February 17th 1962-June 8th 2019... and counting. Incredible!

Down twelve today to #156. Just three weeks to hang in there for a chart career spanning sixty years.
Extra fact: as well as a Top 200 albums stay of (currently) 236 weeks, Sounds Of Summer has also spent 150 weeks exclusively on the Catalog Albums chart, at which time it would still have almost certainly featured on the 200, thus a total figure of 386 weeks is entirely credible.

Down another nine to #189 today. Just one more week to hang in for a chart career of 60 years... nail-biting stuff, huh ?

🥁 🥁 drum roll for andrew’s post 🥁 🥁 Thank you, maestro. Ladies and gentlemen... on the singles chart dated February 17th, 1962, "Surfin'/Luau" by The Beach Boys debuted at #93. Today, the same band are at #166 in the album with Sounds of Summer, thus entering their 60th year on the US charts (yes, entering their 60th year - I ****** up the math). I think that calls for three hearty cheers and a round of applause. More, they've had a charting single or album in every decade since 1962.

Well, dammit that legacy is sure taking one helluva kicking, ain't it ? Sounds of Summer only rose eleven places to #155 on this weeks album chart. I mean, it's really not good enough, is it ?

Probably the result of Mike riding around maskless on a MAGA Covid virus while shooting baby seals with an elephant gun. (<-sarcasm: not a condoning or endorsing of recent behavior or making light of Covid. Covid is a deadly thief and has stolen from my family. Wear a mask, socially distance, sanitize your hands, get a vaccine as soon as possible.)

All the talk of "destroying the legacy" is pure scare-mongering: as it has proven over the decades, The Legacy is bullet proof. Stuff that folk agonise over doesn't really matter to Joe Q. Public, and it's very quickly forgotten in any event. The Legacy, that is the music, is unaffected, and will remain so.

Good Vibrations is apparently currently charting on iTunes in the following territories:
#43 Mongolia #44 Mongolia #270 Canada #301 United States
Don’t know why it’s featured twice in Mongolia but it is what it is… perhaps…
