Thanks Klaas. Any idea of the dates the first two photos were taken?
By the way, JP said that if you ever showed up here I had to say "Hi", and to send you his best wishes.
"Hi Klaas".

"Hi Klaas".
Found the first 2 pics on a local fansite on FB. Date unknown, but most probably 70s.
.... and I really have to call JP again .... (thanks for forwarding his message to me, say "HI!" back when you see him )

Klaas, would you mind if I used one of those pictures for my 'Beach Boys Studios' thread in the Reference section?

The band photo looks interesting. I'm wondering if Mike was otherwise engaged that day, and sent a life-size cardboard cutout of himself instead?

AL: "It was rough being in Holland. We were working 24/7 in a small homemade rebuilt piecemeal little studio in a garage next to a cow pasture. Yeah, it was rough. We didn’t even have the correct electricity so that kind of affected the sound of our equipment. It was a mixed blessing" Stoic Mike is thinking [pick one] 1. "Hey, I don't have much of a part in this song." 2. "Hmmm, I wonder how many song credits I have so far". 3. "I'm not sure the public is ready for our music with the hip lyrics. Better stick with the oldies." 4. "Are they really thinking about releasing that fairy tale just to make Brian happy?"

It was a mixed blessing" I'm sure Steve Moffitt was thrilled with Alan's take on his custom built state of the art console. As for it being the wrong kind of electricity... bull. From the promo booklet: "... to deal effectively with foreign power, three Variable Speed Oscillators to run the tape at 60 cycles; a crystal oscillator to run all the VSOs on 60 cycles; a 3M 16 track tape machine with VSO built in".

LOL!! Now that's fuckin' illogical!!

Nice to see you active again bonny lad.
And yes, you're spot-on with that observation, even more so when you check out the photo of Mike again and see that he's got his phaser on stun.

I've always wondered what kind of guitars Blondie and Carl are playing. Particularly Carl.

Has any hard core fan ever been out to Baambrugge, to see if this building is still there ? bit like Beatles fans visiting Abbey Road

Can't we find a spot to stick up a plaque saying "Holland" was recorded here!

More accurately, part of Holland. "Sail On, Sailor" was of course recorded in late November after the return to LA, and there were additional sessions late September/early October.
The name of the Baambrugge studio, oddly, was BBC 2.

The Boys were only in Baambrugge for about three months, and even then, they only recorded some basic tracks for the Holland album (per AGD).

The address was (based on some sources) Rijksstraatweg 45 , Baambrugge. Which is actually a (former farm)building. The studio was a former chicken farm’s building that was located behind the main building.

To get an idea of the area. 25km’s South of Amsterdam. 25 km’s west of villages like Laren, or Hilversum where some of the BB were living at the time.
