Is it possible to put an "edit" button in the personal message section? With or without auto correct - there are often words that change on their own and you can't go back into the message and substitute actual intelligence for artificial intelligence on iPads and the like. Sometimes of course, there is plenty of human error, but is it possible to make that happen? Thanks!

Is it possible to put an "edit" button in the personal message section? It would definitely be cool (my main problem is spacing and recalcitrant emojis) but it's not the end of the world if it isn't possible. Technically, it wouldn't be possible, since the message would be sent. If you did mistake, the edited message would be sent to poster by default 2nd time? Then what's the difference if you just go to outbox, paste that sent message into new message box and right there edit the mistakes and click "send"?

I think what fdp means (and what I take it to mean) is that it would be cool to have a feature like the one at Smiley where you can preview your post, allowing you to correct it along the way (and save it at the same time). Then you know for sure what it's going to look like before you send it. At least that's been my experience there. But this is a different provider with a different system, same as the one at PSF. If you want to preview your PM before sending it, you can click the "Preview" button at the bottom of the text box on the "Create Message" page.

If you want to preview your PM before sending it, you can click the "Preview" button at the bottom of the text box on the "Create Message" page. I tried that (I tried it at PSF as well) and nothing happened. That said, I've missed things before (entire BB book reviews ) so maybe I'm missing something here. There are two ways to edit posts on this forum: one is Preview Mode, and another is called BBCode. If you aren't using BBCode (with which, for example, no videos are previewed and only the urls are shown ), I suppose what the Create Message page shows you is the same as what the actual PM will look like.

OK, @surflower , I'll give it a try (Mr Technology here). Thanks! You're welcome It just seemed odd that you can go back and do an edit in the Shoutbox or in a regular post but not in a PM. No biggie.

It is just annoying when you type something correctly and find after the fact or as you are hitting the send button that AI has substituted its judgment for you, the writer. It is annoying when you are still somewhat in analog mode.

Can’t help but think it’d be a bad idea. There might be instances where people would edit messages after the fact to alter the meaning of a conversation. For example:
Version one: Q: Did you attend Brian’s concert tonight? A: Yes, and god it was amazing, the best ever. He played for two hours nonstop then brought the whole thing to a terrific climax. I couldn’t believe it when he came back for an encore - I was exhausted but deeply satisfied with his wonderful performance.
This could easily be changed to:
Version two: Q: Did John Manning seduce you last night? A: Yes, and god it was amazing, the best ever. He played for two hours nonstop then brought the whole thing to a terrific climax. I couldn’t believe it when he came back for an encore - I was exhausted but deeply satisfied with his wonderful performance.
