This is more of an observation than a complaint but it would seem that the vast majority of Beach Boys covers tend to come from little-known indie artists than high profile talents. Not that this is in any way a bad thing; I just can't think of off the top of my head too many major artists that have had well-known covers of Beach Boys songs. The most immediate example I can think of is David Lee Roth's spin of "California Girls". I also know several big artists such as David Bowie and Neil Diamond gave us notable readings of "God Only Knows". If you want to go a little more obscure the song "Sail On, Sailor" has surprisingly been covered a few times including a duet of the song between Lulu and Sting, and I think Jimmy Buffett has even performed it. And outside of the obvious tribute albums by Wilson Phillips and She & Him are there any other high profile covers that I'm missing?

Some of the bigger artists - Bryan Ferry covered Don't Worry Baby; the Ramones covered Surfin' Safari; Art Garfunkel - Disney Girls; Todd Rundgren - Good Vibes; Springsteen covered When I Grow Up live:
Linda Ronstadt covered Don't Talk and In My Room; Los Lobos covered Sail on Sailor; Glenn Frey - Caroline, No.
To be honest, most of my favourite covers are by 'lower profile' artists

Johnny Rivers - Help Me, Rhonda. 1975. Hit #22 on Billboard Hot 100.

... are there any other high profile covers that I'm missing? Herman's Hermits recorded "Friends" in 1968 for their lost "Covers" album. Andrew Sandoval played many of those unreleased tracks on his great cometothesunshine podcast. On episode #19 you can listen to "Friends" at 1:34.19.

And there was B.J. Thomas' cover of Don't Worry Baby.
