Great stuff, Klaus and jk.
Thanks especially for the shots of the barn precinct and the context.
Hoping this inspires a few more face to face meets amongst pockets of fans the world over!
And RIP Marten.

Looks like a fun gathering, in spite of the hot weather!

One of the attendees made a cool little movie of the visit. Practice your Dutch if you want to understand any of it ! 😁

One of the attendees made a cool little movie of the visit. Practice your Dutch if you want to understand any of it ! 😁 The important bit begins just before 1:50, when the current owner's description of the situation as-it-was is found to deviate from KJ's site plan for 1972. No doubt we'll see the results of those changes in the main "Baambrugge" thread... Nice work by the movie-making attendee.

Still trying to catch up with everything after being out of it for a while. Klaas, it was good to see a few familiar faces there, Willy looks as tranquil as ever, and it was especially heartening to see that Henriette and Zeljko managed to make it - when she was last in touch with me she was in ill health and very down so I'm glad that things seem to be looking up for her again. Sad to discover that Maarten is no longer with us, he had a really dry wit and his emails were always a delight to read. The last time I was with them all was at a TLOS show in September 2007 at the RFH; the Dutch fans were always the coolest and the craziest dudes to be around. I wish I could have been there to finally meet you and hang with some old pals, but maybe next time

Good to see you around again anyway. This may be very old news, but in the video you can hear someone off-camera (possibly the video'er) asking just after 3:08, "What's the BBC [British Broadcasting Corporation] got to do with it?" To which KJ answers, "Nothing... [it stands for] Baam Brugge Centrum [= centre]."

Additional (old) pictures don’t seem to be in line with the alternative location. So there’s more research to do. No doubt we’ll have an answer before the book gets released.

And the loveable guys in those photos aren't just pretty faces - they produce things of beauty, just like this:

Sad to hear of the passing on Sunday of Henriette Lovric, a stalwart of the Dutch BB fan community, following a courageous battle with leukemia. A lovely lady, larger than life with an infectious laugh and a hug that quite literally took your breath away, something to which I can fondly attest. She was known to many of us simply as “Mother”. Seldom seen without a glass of her favourite wine, although because of her illness she was taking things a little easier at the Baambrugge meet last August, where she can be seen sitting with her devoted husband Zeljko in one of the photos in this thread.
Rest peacefully Jetje, you will be greatly missed.

Yeah, this one really hits us hard. This last month her condition really got worse quickly. So glad she and Zeljko were able to make it to Baambrugge last Summer. And although we knew it might be the last time we still had hope that she might make ot to our next meeting in May this year. It wasn’t meant to be….
