Apologies if somebody already posted here about this, but I haven't come across anything. Yesterday I clicked on my favorites link to the Sail On Podcast page and was pleased to see that Wyatt was finally back from hiatus with two new episodes on the Friends album. The first episode is more or less a basic overview of the album with YouTuber guest Giggins, but the second episode with Will and John is a factual bonanza covering the tracks leading up to Friends proper-- mostly the previously unheard things from Wake the World that came out a couple of years ago. This is fantastic stuff for Beach Boys freaks. They nail down the musicians on each track (several recorded by the Beach Boys themselves) and give a great deal of historical detail and insight into an era that has been previously shrouded in mystery. (Until recently, did anybody even know that Brian had partially recorded a follow-up to Wild Honey that he abandoned before beginning work on Friends?) One of the revelations for me was that "Away" was actually recorded at the same 11.28.67 session as Dennis's "Tune #L" and that both tracks were presumably intended for Dino, Desi and Billy. I went to 10452 to confirm, and sure enough AGD had already noted the proper session date. It's great to see actual historians and musicologists working together to keep the historical record alive and as accurate as possible. Anyway, just thought I'd give an unsolicited plug for the show, since the hosts obviously put a ton of work into each episode. sailon.podbean.com/

They only started giving the albums that much attention starting with Pet Sounds; I wonder if they're going to re-visit the earlier albums with such detail.

The best pop music podcast going by far and an excellent documentary project of the group.

Yeah, it became a completely different podcast when Jason Brewer left the show. A Will and John deep dive into the pre-Pet Sounds albums might be fun.

Sorry if this has been brought up elsewhere but I couldn't find it and figured this thread would be the most appropriate one to ask in.
Throughout the Smile episodes Wyatt talks about a "Sail On Smile playlist/mix." Oftentimes he laughs when bringing it up so it very well may have been a running joke.. but if it does exist, can anyone point me to it? Or is there a general playlist where they have all the songs featured? I'm sure I could compile it myself but it would be pretty dope if that already exists.

That's like saying Brian recorded "an unfinished Good Vibrations album" between Pet Sounds and Smile.
