My copy arrived in the mail today -- looking forward to diving into it later tonight. I've already read the Jeff Foskett interview, a special thanks for that!

One of the best issues imho- Sometimes, I have interviewed people and recognized that they really can't tell me something that I don't already know-because they don't really recall the details but Arnie Geller really provided some new and in depth info and seemed to have a real sharp memory of the 60's. In fact, the interview made me realize he was far more central to events than I originally imagined. The David Leaf interview was also excellent-because Dave B asked the questions that people really wanted him to ask and David Leaf gave great answers to those sharp questions. The interview really put David L's books into historical context and he totally explained his point of view and also reminded those inclined to attack that point of view that in the end it was just one man's point of view. Personally I love David's book (the 1985 edition) and look forward to reading the updated version (which by the way I was originally inclined not to buy-but now that I know all the work he put into the new material (60,000 words!)-I really want to read it)

Fascinating interview with Arny Geller (even if some of his recollections are open to question) - so much so that I've had to update Part 2 of my BEACH BOYS ALBUM SLEEVES PROJECT forthwith ! Well done David !!

This issue had a nice 'old school' vibe, and it felt good to find the right time and place for Arny's interview. I have more interviews like this …

Fascinating interview with Arny Geller (even if some of his recollections are open to question) - so much so that I've had to update Part 2 of my BEACH BOYS ALBUM SLEEVES PROJECT forthwith ! Well done David !! Malc, I just read your recent updates in the album sleeves project. Jeff Foskett relates: For my 20th birthday I wanted to meet Brian Wilson. I knew he lived on Bellagio Road in Bel Air, and I knew that the ‘Wild Honey’ album sleeve was a picture of a stained-glass window in his house. So I drove up and down Bellagio Road until I found that window. I went to the gate, rang the buzzer, and he let me in. Obviously you couldn't get away with something like that today, and I'm sure I'm the only human that ever did that." No, Jeff wasn't the only human who did that. Right around the same time Jeff visited Brian in 1976, I did the same thing. And fellow superfan Steve Bonilla also did the same thing.

The very wonderful Chris Rainbow did much the same in about 1974 (although he was given the address), but never got around to using the buzzer once he saw the "Stand back ! Speak normal !" sign. I'm not sure how many people did push the button after Crawdaddy included the number of the Bellagio house in its summer 1976 articles on Brian, but I'm told it did happen.

Got my copy this weekend. Immediately started reading the Geller interview. I have yet to start with the other interview with David Leaf, but no doubt that that will be interesting as well. Great stuff! Good one, David.

Great issue. Great interview with David Leaf. Asked critical questions and wasn’t sycophantic and as a result got great answers and made me look forward to the new edition and will sit nicely alongside the other two.

I received my issue yesterday. Another tremendous read. It's amazing how there is always new things to learn, even after all this time.
I was always interested in the H&V cartoon picture sleeve, so I was excited to hear about it's origin via Arny.
Also, props for posing tough questions to David Leaf.
Great to hear from Jeff and learn of his progress.

My copy arrived today, just read the Geller interview: pure gold ! Now for young master Leaf. I've a feeling this will be interesting.
General observation: iffn you're not already subscribed to ESQ, you really should consider it. There's something oddly enjoyable about reading something you're holding in your hands as opposed to on a screen, and the content speaks for itself.
