Okay. Thanks. We're good now. I get your anger at what's happening with the releases. That much I understand (and appreciate) I'm glad we're good. I don't like upsetting people and thus should refrain from posting when feeling irritable You could get in a bad mood with this stuff. Even the most calm, measured, even-tempered people.

I’m going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that perhaps the reason they keep adding more and more treble to remixes is because they are desperately and futilely trying to make up for the fact that 16-bit CDs, MP3’s and most streaming files can never replace the missing frequency range of the wonderful vinyl records we all grew up with.

\they want/need to attract a new generation of fans-that is who sounds of summer hopes to snag
Quoted for truth.
Even our younger members don’t like the sonic decisions that Howie said he whispered in Linett’s ear. As for SOS just being for a new and younger audience, I have to disagree. I have just about every album released, including greatest hits packages. Most have something different on it that make it worth purchasing. I have the original SoS, then the Sites and Sounds edition and now a 3rd with this Friday’s release. Worst case, I keep it around another 15 years until I turn 80. It may help if I encounter old age hearing loss. 😉

Looks like the Good Vibrations video was updated. It’s now 1080P, and uses the new stereo mix instead of the weird VHSsounding rip of the original upload

Seems to me if they used too much treble, we'd hear the "s" in "wears."

Thanks Horsey! Wow, sounds more like a different version or mix from the upcoming CATP-Holland box set, and not a remix of the original song. It is cool to listen to a few times, but it is way too different than the original. Boy are those background vocals “busy”. Good decision too, to hide a few of them on the original mix. Still, I am holding off judgement until I get CD in hand next Friday and I listen on a good stereo system. The best decision I have read. I'm currently at $20.70 @ Amazon USA. I paid $42 for takeout dinner last night. That's gone out thru my ass this morning. I am positive I will get $21 worth of enjoyment out of the three Cd-set. It will not sound like Mp3 crap.

It's like a big fat audio dropout. na, in this case I think its a good thing because: A: I like the new gv mix for the most part B: The original upload was literally some type of rip from the video, so it sounded horrible. Like it was coming through old TV speakers. Check the comments, a lot of talk about the poor audio of the original upload from six years ago

Folks, looks like I will be locking the thread. Apparently, we all went a little too far in our questioning and commenting of Howie regarding his answers in his podcast interviews. As Mike Love once said, I guess he is "sitting in an uncomfortable seat". Oh well, our bad. Enjoy the new Sounds of Summer 3 CD Set this Friday, June 17, 2022.
