Can anyone find a clip from BW’s fabled Fall 2009 tour?

Al singing Sail on Sailor back in 2015: It is pretty amazing that Al can still sing pretty much any Beach Boys song that is thrown at him (I said "pretty much" as I know there are some exceptions before anyone starts to point them out ).

Nice! Al sounds great (as usual) on that first verse. Now if only Mark and Alan could dig up even a partial Dennis-sung version, we’d have versions with Brian, Carl, Dennis Blondie, Al, and Billy Hinshe all singing it. Sidenote: I wonder if a certain Beach Boys engineer would believe Al’s introductory story about who sang “Sail on Sailor”, where/when it was recorded, etc. (Okay, probably shouldn’t open that can of worms!)

Terry Jacks recalls his time producing the group at 18.01: That was pretty good. Thanks! I didn't know that he did production for the BB's.

I like this documentary. I think just from the interviews alone, it really shows the divide within the band that's existed since Smile.

I'm the uploader of that video - I do have the full interview clip, but i'm not sure exactly where or when it is from. It's tagged as "Essence of Brian interview" and I'm guessing it's from '77. Love to know if anyone does know the exact interview name/date.

Thanks for the tip, if you know where I can listen to the whole thing, just let me know. Also, your YouTube channel is a joy and thing of beauty.

This was fantastic listening; thanks a million, Elora. Brian interviews from this period are so rare.

Glorious 1968! That was great - Wake the World in the white suits, so laid back and cool! And Do it Again- the Summer of '68!

Love to know if anyone does know the exact interview name/date. This might be an interview from a Radio Show in Washington or Oregon in 1977, as said. Brian was on the air promoting a Beach Boys' concert that same night in Portland or Seattle, telling listeners, "Come on out to the show...we haven't "Sold Out" and there are plenty of tickets available at the door." It was a crazy interview, and Brian was just rambling on a like a used car salesman! I used to have this interview on a tape somewhere, but it's long gone. I do remember Brian talking about "not ejaculating" and I remember laughing about this and thinking, at the time, "Poor Marilyn!". Some have said he was "coked" up for the interview, which wouldn't surprise me based on the time period and his tone of voice..he's just in high gear! I'm guessing, it might be just after Dr. Landy was fired the first time, which would be about right, but I'm not 100% sure!! But I think this snippet might be from this interview, but I could be wrong! Dogbone

Terry Jacks recalls his time producing the group at 18.01: This is got to be the coolest interview I've ever seen. Terry Jacks is just the coolest person, with little or no ego. And his memory is fantastic, as he talks about so many things, including his friendship with Jacques Brel, the Poppy Family, and his time working with the Beach Boys. The interviewer Nardwuar also knows his stuff, and I think Terry is just as surprised to hear some of the questions, as he's blown away about being asked about some things. I especially like the stuff about the B-side to "Seasons"..."Put The Bone In"...which I remember as a kid back in 1974, when the record came out. My sister had a copy and we would always listen to the B-side. This one was a bit funny, and years later, I understood the "put the bone in" as a reference to penetration!! LOL!! And no, my name doesn't come from the song!! LOL!! Have a laugh: Dogbone

If the guy that runs the elora channel on YT is a member here, I’d like to thank him from the bottom of my heart. There’s some great content there. And the recent beauty contest video he posted is the epitome of weirdness and eeriness that only the Beach Boys are capable of.
