Hi everyone, I have been on here for quite some time but never really posted here, mainly because I never could remember my password, and never got round to resetting it. Given what has happened to SmileySmile.net I figured now is as good a time as any.
So here I am. I have been a BB fan since 1981, Christmas Eve to be exact when the Beach Boys Greatest Hits album had just been released in Australia, and the Medley was screaming up the Aussie charts. That album was my introduction. The rest is history.

Hi Dwight, it’s very nice to see you!
I have a few questions:
— What’s your favourite BB album? — Top 10 fave BB songs? — Have you seen BB or any of the members live?

Hi gigantiskpyjamas,
Favourite BB album including "unreleased" is without a doubt Smile. Not including unreleased becomes a bit more difficult as it often depends on my state of mind. But Pet Sounds, Sunflower, Shut Down Vol. 2 and Holland top the list. Given a yes/no choice, then I would say Pet Sounds.
Top 10 fave songs: Good Vibrations Surf's Up Cabinessence Heroes and Villains This Whole World Shut Down, Part II Don't Worry Baby Slip On Through Help Me Rhonda live with Dennis on lead Meant for You (extended)
I have met all Beach Boys one-on-one except for Dennis, and have seen them 6 times live, Brian solo 4 times. I have a signed 409 45 pic sleeve by Gary Usher and a signed (sans Dennis) Sunflower.
I also compiled a book around 30 years ago called "The Smile File" which listed all known session dates for the Smile album.

I also love the extended version of “Meant For You,” and can’t understand why it was shortened to almost nothing on Friends.
I also spent years compiling a book of the chronological history of Smile, documenting everything I could find on the recording dates, mentions in magazines, books and newspapers, including relevant quotes, plus when each official Smile song came out, including compilation albums and CD, bootlegs, and even live versions of Smile songs. It was completed just before the 30 Years of Good Vibrations box set came out, and though I gave a copy to some family members and friends, I never did anything else with it. There’s been so much Smile releases since then, my book is totally obsolete now.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
I thought I should also add that many years ago, I was in LA with Domenic Priore and we were delivering copies of his LLVS book to a store in Hollywood (IIRC). We then proceeded to do a "Grand Pooh-Bah Tour" for my benefit. We went to Foster's Freeze and asked the waitress to "give me a root beer", we then drove past the Wilson's old high school, then proceeded to Hawthorne where we saw the site of the old Wilson home (it looked like it does on the I Just Wasn't Made For These Times doco). We also met Andy paley at Ocean Way Studios (formerly Western) who gave us a complete tour of the facilities. He was also very stoked to play us a live version of Don't Worry Baby (which subsequently appeared on the 2fer CD issue of Concert/Live in London as a bonus track). We also drove past the Fire Station featured in the GV promo clip. However the Grand Cru of the trip was being allowed to visit the Bellagio road house. Now THAT was incredible.
These days, I work in TV, and recently made a documentary film, "Searching for Skylab" which is about the space station that infamously crashed into Western Australia. Just yesterday it won it's 26th Award, and in 2022 I'm hoping to sell it to TV networks and streaming platforms. An interesting connection of Beach Boys and Skylab. One astronaut's daughter met her future-husband at the Rockin' at the Queen Mary Concert in 1981!

Wow! I grew up in L.A., and even lived in Hawthorne for 4 years, and never went on a Beach Boys tour like that! Never even thought about visiting their places of interest. Of course, I did go boogie boarding at the same beaches Dennis Wilson surfed at, drove all over the same streets, and ate at the Beach Boys cafe in Hermosa Beach many times.

Hi Cam, yes that is me. Although I reverted back to my birth name of Dwight Steven-Boniecki. Nice to remake your acquaintance.
