The Fall 2021 issue of ESQ was mailed out last week and I've received some wonderful responses. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on what they enjoyed about the new Audree Wilson-focused edition.

I really enjoyed the Audree Wilson issue. A lot of attention has been paid to Murry and his interactions with his sons, but little paid to Audree as the family's matriarch until now. This issue paints a much fuller picture of Audree, as a mother and grandmother, as a supporter of the Beach Boys, and as a nurturer to many. If you have the chance to meet any of the extended Wilson family, you'll see Audree's influence in their generosity of spirit.

Received the Audree tribute yesterday. And already finished reading it. 🙂 Really enjoyed it! It’s only a footnote, but as there are fans here who love details, here it is. On page 37 there’s a picture of the August 3rd 1972 Farewell party in Scheveningen, The Netherlands. Two of them are labeled ‘unknown’. But since last week we know who the guy is that is standing left of Annie. It’s Russ Mackie, described as the group’s traveling attache at the time, and part of the Brother Records team when they were (also) seated in London and later on Amsterdam. Russ was also responsible for the artwork of the Holland album. With many thanks to the former president of the Dutch early 70s fanclub, who confirmed this. We still don’t know who the other person is? There was an article in a Dutch newspaper naming both of them studio musicians. But now that we know one of them was a BB associate, the other one most probably was as well. But who? Tell us if you know. More info here: endlessharmony.boards.net/thread/1736/russ-mackie-solved
