A lot of people really like Wild Honey and during the Thanksgiving Tour in 1967, they doing the advance work before the release in December. There was an east coast DJ who liked the band, and he took a thoughtful minute or so, talking about “Darlin’” and his commentary was that it was a really old fashioned word, and how interesting and surprising that a rock band would be including such a romantic term from yesteryear in one of their songs. "Darling" works well when you can't remember their name. "Honey" works well in the classroom as well when you have 30 kids' names to remember.

"Honey" works well in the classroom as well when you have 30 kids' names to remember. That's wild. It used to be that everyone had the same names as their parents. Now, often, you get parents who each have their own names, and some guardian aunt or grandmother, all with different names. "Honey" works wonders.

I have loved this album for 20+ years.
Would I try to argue that somehow it's a perfect collection? No.
But I love it, and I'm surprised at how re-listenable it is for me. I don't listen it to death, but whenever I think of it, I'm always in the mood for Wild Honey.
Wild Honey - Great lyric, great track. Aren't You Glad - Always really enjoy this song. Made to Love Her - can't evaluate this cover as a musicologist or Stevie Wonder expert, but I've always liked it. Country Air - Great track. Rooster gimmick gets me every time. A Thing or Two - Love this track. Darlin' - Maybe my least favorite track on here, and I still like it. Love Just Once - Charming and timeless. Here Comes the Night - Maybe my favorite track on here. The vocal arrangement I can't get enough of. Let the Wind Blow - Another great track. How She Boogalooed It - Always enjoy this, though I understand it's kind of fluff. Mama Says - Thrilled by this track.
What a world, and what a group, where Wild Honey might be a forgettable album!

10/10
Every song has that perfect Beach Boys style/mix of their surfing days and later hippie stuff as seen here. It makes me feel like i'm on a tropical island in the middle of July, as well as a cozy room during the middle of winter to just get funky either way. It's so good, i bought the cd of it a few months back
