Al is playing in Montclair?
that's great. Montclair is easy to find because it's next to Claremont.

Looking forward to seeing Al's show tomorrow and will give some report to this community. Best to all. Al Jardine and the Endless Summer Band at "The Coach House" in San Juan Capistrano. The following day he'll be at the Fox Tucson Theatre in Tucson. Looking forward to your review of the California gig, Newbbfan! I see where Carnie and Wendy will be joining the band at a few of the July gigs in Socal.

Thanks for all the support all around
I've seen Al twice now with Matt and keyboard player Debbie.
But this is the first time I will have seen him with the great great players from Beach Boy history that are joining him on stage; is it in fact Bobby Figueroa and Ed carter? Probyn as well, or does he only join in the friends and family tour with Wendy and carnie?

Looks like Al, Matt, Steady Eddie, Bobby, & Debbie are the core members. Probyn and Randell Kirsch have popped in from time to time, as do Wendy and Carnie, especially when they play in Southern California. And Rob Bonfiglio has been known to join them at times.
Al's original band was called "Beach Boys Family and Friends" Then legal stuff went down about the name (initiated by Mike Love), so Al changed the name to "Family & Friends Beach Band" back in 1999. At one time you had Al Jardine, Matt Jardine, Adam Jardine, Carnie, Wendy, Owen Elliot (Mama Cass Elliot's daughter) Billy Hinsche, Daryl Dragon, Ed Carter, Bobby Figueroa, and Richie Cannata. Daryl and Owen dropped out at some point around 2000 (when I saw them) and Randell Kirsch and Tom Jacob joined the band. So a who's who of Beach Boys backup musicians. They were tight!

Mikie and the crew, it was really tough for Al to play both his part-- or Dave's part, depending on the song-- and then also Carl's part for the solos, so I'm glad to see in these shows Al's got more of a range of musicians that can cover and have played Beach Boys songs forever.

Just a short note to say that show was fantastic with Bobby and Ed providing so much of a brilliant musical foundation for Al and Mat to sing. Probyn was there he said unexpectedly to play lead guitar and and it has great musicality to the entire blend.
After the show The musicians mingled and chatted with the fans warmly in a great mood of celebration and kindness before they headed out to the airport for the next show in Arizona today. There was a lot to experience and Ed Roach was there and reintroduced himself to Al,who said to him are you 'the Ed Roach' and they smiled and took a photo together, so there was some elements of Beach Boy history operative at the show.
Al is a great showman, so full of heart and kindness and love, and the audience sang and danced with great festive glee throughout the night, and from every aesthetic standpoint the evening was a success , and the musicians seemed very happy with her performance.
.... one more night of preserving beautiful and infinite Beach Boy vibes. A real pleasure to be there.

I've only seen him once at one of Al's shows pre-C50. It's a lovely crew as well.

Yes I was in the front row, so to speak, for a first class experience. I made a few short videos but lack the technology to get them across but will see if I can send them to Dirk, and thank you so much Dirk for posting.

Tomorrow I have a social obligation so I cannot go to Al's show in Montclair but if anyone intends to go please report back here. I feel like the show in San Juan Capistrano was just a high point for me, and I used all my street cred as it were in talking to Ed and to Bobby and to Marianne into Al and spending a very wonderful evening with our good colleague Eric A.
I know I cannot replicate that, so I won't be at tomorrow's show but I certainly hope they do a great job and I'm sure it'll be absolutely joyous, and if anyone gets any detailed information from Alan concerning the future of the Beach Boys then I'll look forward to hearing it reported here.

Some neat clips uploaded of Alan's recent show, 'Live at Saban'. This version of 'Surfs Up' by Matt is particularly delightful to my ears.
