In the Brad Elliot book “Surf's Up!: The Beach Boys on Record, 1961-1981,” he listed all the unreleased Beach Boys songs which he knew about at the time, including unreleased and/or proposed albums. A follow up album to 15 Big Ones was in the works, called New Album at the time. Some of these songs ended up on the unreleased Adult Child, or in different versions or mixes on MIU. A couple songs finally saw the light of day officially on the Made in California box set. Some still remain unreleased to this day.
This bootleg album is a nice depiction of what the album might have been. And this album contains the unreleased mixes and versions of the songs that were released later.
Side 1:
1. My Diane 2. Marilyn Rovell 3. Hey Little Tomboy 4. Ruby Baby 5. You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling 6. Sherry She Needs Me 7. Come Go With me
Side 2:
1. Mony,Mony 2. On Broadway 3. Sea Cruise 4. Help Is On The Way 5. Games Two Can Play 6. When Girls Get Together 7. Honkin' Down The Highway

The word "unreleasable" comes to mind when looking at that collection of songs.
Despite one or two bright moments, I can't imagine any sane band member or label head thinking that it could do the group any good whatsoever.

Also, "HDTH" is indicated to be an outtake not included on "New Album". A few tracks were first released on the 1993 box, long before MiC. Side 1: 1. My Diane - MIU2. Marilyn Rovell - unreleased 3. Honkin' Down The Highway - Love YouI believe the Honkin' mix on the boots that try and construct this album is the one with Billy Hinsche on lead vocal, along with Come Go With Me being the "15 Big Ones" mix. I believe Andrew wanted to know where the album sides and track order came from? None were known to ever exist.

As I stated, it was a vinyl bootleg album, that came out in the early 80s. I have it in my collection. The nice thing is that this series of four albums came out when these tapes were just starting to leak out, before you could find them everywhere. The track listing was created by the bootleggers. Obviously it’s not an official track listing from the band. I bought three of the four albums in the series at the time. www.surfermoon.com/boots/newalbum.shtmlNew Album The Beach Boys Making Waves (Collectors Series # 1) This Album Is # 1 In A Collectors Series Of 4 Sound Quality: 6 Overall Value: 6 Format: LP Side 1: 1. Honkin' Down The Highway - Love YouI believe the Honkin' mix on the boots that try and construct this album is the one with Billy Hinsche on lead vocal, along with Come Go With Me being the "15 Big Ones" mix. My Diane seems to be a different mix than MIU. Hey Little Tomboy is the Adult Child original version. Sherry She Needs me is the mix without the harmony vocals found on MiC. You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling is the original mix which seems to be different than MiC. Come Go With Me is a different mix, with a looped intro as well, the "15 Big Ones" mix as beatlesyoshi (he/him) mentioned. I've heard two mixes for H.E.L.P. This is the one that appeared on the unreleased Adult Child, which seems to be different than the Landlocked boot. I'm not sure which version was released on the box set. Sea Cruise could be a different mix than 10 Years of Harmony, but perhaps that just seems to be to me because it's lesser quality. As beatlesyoshi (he/him) said, Honkin' is the Billy Hinsche lead vocal version. I'm amazed that even after Made in California picked up 2 of the songs, 4 more still remain unreleased.

Yup, bought those when they came out - cool stuff for the day, and yes, obviously nothing close to an official track listing... but someone skimming the thread might think otherwise.

A handwritten list for what could be a real 'New Album' lineup (complete with apparent side divide) does exist on a 1976 Brother document. As written:
LAZZIE LIZZIE H.E.L.P SHERRY, SHE NEEDS ME TOM BOY TWO CAN PLAY MARILYN
DING DANG I WANNA PICK YOU UP GOOD TIME RUBY WHEN GIRLS GET TOGETHER ON BROADWAY SEA CRUISE
No numbers or a heading accompany this.
All of those tracks (besides On Broadway) were mixed by Brian and Steve Moffit on October 2, 4 and 5. Some, apparently, were sequenced in a partial assembly for an album (one list labelled 'B SIDE PART 1' is exactly the first four tracks handwritten after the break) before being cut apart, with various tracks lifted to other projects.
Ding Dang, I Wanna Pick You Up and Good Time were used on Love You (with rejected mixes for the first two from a few days earlier now bootlegged). HELP, Two Can Play and Tomboy went to Adult Child. Sea Cruise is the mix featured on Ten Years of Harmony. On Broadway was presumably already dubbed down during the 15 Big Ones sessions and lifted from there to the Adult Child reel.
Honkin', Diane, and Lovin' Feelin' were recorded during the Love You 'proper' sessions beginning shortly afterwards. That bootleg is just a random jumble.

I’m surprised they even considered releasing “Lazy Lizzie.” It seems to be about a child molester stalking his prey. And it’s way too repetitive. (Which is about like saying the food is bad, and there’s too much of it.)
Perhaps there could have been an EP:
Lazy Lizzie Hey Little Tomboy I Wanna Pick You Up When Girls Get Together

I found my copy of Surf's Up! The Beach Boys on Record, 1961-1981, by Brad Elliott. Here is the exact quote:
Fall 1976 - "New Album" Brian returned to the studio following the Bicentennial summer tour and prepared two complete albums, Brian Loves You and New Album. The former was released the following spring as The Beach Boys Love You. The exact line up of the unreleased New Album is not known. It included a number of newly-recorded songs - My Diane, Marilyn Rovell, Hey Little Tomboy, Ruby Baby, You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling and Sherry She Needs Me (actually a 1965 track finished with a 1976 Brian vocal.) Filling out New Album were earlier recordings. Undoubtedly, some were leftovers from the 15 Big Ones sessions (Come Go With Me, Mony Mony, On Broadway, Sea Cruise). Others may have been rescued from the oblivion of the group's tape library (H.E.L.P. is on the Way, Games Two Can Play, When Girls Get Together). Left over from the fall sessions was an alternate version of Honkin' Down the Highway, with Billy Hinsche singing lead.
So, given that this information is all that we knew in 1982 when the book was published, the bootleggers did a great job of putting together an LP that exactly matched the songs, in the exact order mentioned in the book, and used all the correct unreleased mixes. I say bravo!

I’m surprised they even considered releasing “Lazy Lizzie.” It seems to be about a... Perhaps there could have been an EP Or, they could have just covered a Muddy Waters song, say Good Morning Little School Girl.
