Blondie’s second, unreleased album, hasn’t been heard by many folks, including many fans of The Beach Boys. It’s recently been posted to YouTube; might not be there for long so don’t miss the opportunity to listen. Hopefully, one day, it’ll get a well-deserved, proper release. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtGDN7i8dXA58GrPVx4hVokpGR7xXnqvq

With contributions of a few Stones (Keith and Ronnie). Might have been the reason an official release turned put to be a too complicated task. Which is a shame; definitely Blondie’s best solo offer. Hear and grab it while you can!

And thanks to Klaas for the additional info.

I reckon his three albums are among the very best by any solo Beach Boy, the latter two especially. Really keen to hear his next!

Almost impossible to find, but try to get the South African only release of the group Skollie, called Ostrich Man (1992). Skollie consists of Blondie Chaplin, Keith Lentin and Anton Fig. He also sings all lead vocals on Ray O’Hara’s Picaresque album. Another guest appearances that might be worthwhile for you is David Johansen’s Here Comes The Night album.

Ah, I have a copy of the Skollie CD somewhere… have a long car journey tomorrow so will dig it out, thank you. Haven’t listened to it in a long time.
Someone kindly sent me FT and Skollie some years ago and I cannot remember who… whoever, I’m in their debt.
I also have Ray O’Hara’s Picaresque but didn’t enjoy that as much. Maybe time to refresh the memory though.

Thanks for posting this link. I have listened to it several times now and I’m really enjoying it. I always liked the Blondie and Ricky era of The Beach Boys too. Sure would be nice if this album would get an official release!

Sure would be nice if this album would get an official release! Agree… Surely those Rolling Stones chaps have more money than they could ever know what to do with and could waive any royalties – or maybe Blondie could re-record those parts (though it’s already beautifully mixed, and it’s be a shame to have to). #FreeFragileThread

Hear and grab it while you can! Papa John Phillips' "Pay, Pack and Follow" (rec. 1976/77 but not released until 2001) features no less than four (former) Stones (Jagger, Richards, Wood and Taylor) and did (eventually) come out, so perhaps there is hope for this one too (if that is the reason to begin with). Keep coming back to "Fragile Thread", I love it, Blondie's vocals and guitar work are excellent as always and the songs are very solid. Just hope that a label will pick this up and give it the proper release it deserves. With so much dross and so many dodgy reissues out there these days, surely somebody would be interested in putting this terrific album out?

Add another vote to the "Please Release This" pile. It's rare to hear an album that's as varied yet cohesive and of such high quality throughout. Love "Don't Ask" and "Fish Out of Water," as well as the surprise flute-like flourishes on "Love You 'Til I Die." Soulful and solid all the way through the album, excellent work!
