Is there a current list of Brian Wilson guest appearances on other artists’ albums available? In this age of being able to purchase individual songs as downloads, rather than an entire album, it would be nice to put together a compilation of Brian’s work for outside artists.

For me, the high-water mark in recent years (i.e. 80s to now) is his bvs on Linda Ronstadt's Adios.

Reading that list, I see Richard Ashcroft so thought I'd look for the track. Found an article which states Brian arranged and performed all the backing vocals. I listened to it and totaly ignored the lyrics and was drawn to the backing.. Good song alround I think..

I’d love to see an album released of his backing vocals for others. There are some stellar examples – Neil Diamond’s Delirious Love, Emile Haynie’s Falling Apart, Mini Mansion’s Any Emotions, the Richard Ashcroft track mentioned already, Hand on My Shoulder by Anton Fig, and more – easily enough quality examples to form an album, maybe even a CD.
I had a playlist on my iPod (remember them, from the days when music travelled through wires?) once, which had a really smooth flow. By way of example, it started with Styx’s Fooling Yourself (Palm Of Your Hands), which was followed immediately by Delirious Love – so, in the best BW tradition it had an accapella start followed by an energetic stomper.
I’ll fire up my old Mac someday soon and see if I can find it, to post the track list here.

There is software available that can remove the lead vocal from a recording. If it doesn’t also remove the backing vocals, you might be able to hear the tracks with just Brian’s backing vocals.

Interesting to list Brian's ten best guesting spots. In no particular order: "Delirious Love" - Neil Diamond "Nature Is The Law" - Richard Ashcroft "Surf City" - Jan & Dean "Guess I'm Dumb" - Glen Campbell "Adios" - Linda Ronsdtat
"In My Moondreams" - Andy Paley "California" - Belinda Carlisle "Our Special Love" - Peter Hollens "Monday Without You" - The Wilsons "Sweet Mountain" - Spring
