My copy finally made it to the colonies, a bloody cracker of an edition.
Fascinating to read the slightly varied but generally on song recollections of the principles - while it may drive facts and accuracy types nuts, the oral history approach brings out nuanced aspects of the band members experiences and how it formed them moving forward.
For example, while Mike has faced criticism and ridicule for his soft lyrical rewrite and messaging of SDT, the contextualisation he provides - he saw strong images of social upheaval on the telly - allows a glimpse of his human reaction to the world around him, flawed as it may have been for some.
The Radiant Radish article was fantastic! Great “hearing” Arny Geller and Richard Maier give the skinny about this fleeting but legendary element of BB history.

Echoing what others have said in that this is a fantastic issue and well worth picking up if interested in the ‘Feel Flows’ era.
A very minor point of clarification as to Arny’s interview within the Radiant Radish article - 1) Farmer’s Market @ Fairfax & 3rd is no where near downtown Los Angeles, and 2) The Radish was maybe 5 blocks from Beverly Hills (not 5 miles). Minor points but thought it worth mentioning as this is the definitive piece on the Radish so best to have the info accurate.

Just curious: is there a sessionography in this issue?

Is it similar to the prototype pdf I downloaded from the Beach Boys discord group I was in (Brian playing bass on Take a Load, Blondie playing bass on Student Demonstration Time, and the wonderful Moog textures added beneath the harmonium played by Brian and the pipe organs played by Daryl on a day in the life of a tree)? And if you want I can send you what I was sent in the chat. All I remember is that Craig made it and sent it to someone who then sent it into the discord chat. This was like back in August a couple weeks before the Feel Flows set was released so it was a pretty big deal…or at least it was to me.

The sessionography was done by Craig, with help from Joshilyn, Will, and me.

It’s a great sessionography, never would’ve guessed some of those (especially the appearance by Blondie)! Great job guys!

You should subscribe.
