I've been through the last couple of boxes of Beach Boys LPs that my dad collected--like many of you, he became fascinated with the amount of available material and he seems to have gone out of his way to look for odd compilation LPs, particularly from the UK and Europe. (Not sure when he did all this, but much of it must pre-date my conception!) I don't see a topic for this little sub-area so I thought I would kick off one with the LP from the box that seems like one of the weirdest collection of tracks for a Beach Boys LP ever devised. I'm having trouble getting an image up of it, but it's a British LP from the MFP label, #1382, with the following track listing: Side One: How She Boogalooed It Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) Car Crazy Cutie We'll Run Away Misirlou Whistle In Side Two: Summertime Blues Anna Lee the Healer Boogie Woodie Tell Me Why Louie Louie Good to My Baby Has a 1968 copyright date, and the latest LP covered in this wild mashup of tunes is from FRIENDS ("Anna Lee the Healer"). Talk about mood swings! There appear to me some more of these type of LPs, there were 3-4 more somewhat similar (but not quite so bizarre)--just curious what the rest of you have tracked down...seemed like a good idea for a little thread.

Never seen that track listing. Very strange, indeed. For the moodiest of mood swingers. Brian's going to run away and get married to the car crazy cutie!
Cover - not too hot, either. I have a few mfp vinyl albums. Don't think they're worth too much.

Decidledly average, but used to turn up more in 2nd hand joints than an original, so not a terrible grab for first timers.

In my experience, there was a time when original BB albums were pretty thin on the ground in the colonies of the EMIPIRE, but GH’s and these kind of weird budget releases were easily available even in Coles and Woolworths (I think the Brexits version is Tescos, or Farnesby & Babbletons etc). So you could pick up the evenings tunes while fetching a loaf and dripping.

Saw that LP for the first time last year online. That was a strange collection of tunes. How do you even get there? Just pull reels out of the library at Abbey Road and throw it all together?
Here is another from 1970, Bug In:
