Well, the title and the idea for this thread come from the liner notes to the CD reissue of Fleetwood Mac's Tusk, wherein can be read the following:
"'That's All For Everyone' is a subtle stunner: a richly textured, highly emotional song about endings and departures set to music worthy of Brian Wilson's hymnbook, where it might be filed next to ''Til I Die'."
I tried this once before on another now-defunct forum and the suggestions by others for non-BW songs for such a hypothetical hymnbook were eye-opening to say the least, including as they did the likes of Elvis's "Crying In The Chapel".
Let's start with the above-mentioned "TAFE", one of my two absolute favourite Mac songs (the other being "Sara" from the same album):

Another I managed to shoehorn onto the album we'd organized at that other forum was this blissed-out gem by The High Llamas, "Might As Well Be Dumbo":

In a desperate attempt to keep this dodgy topic afloat, here's one of the songs I'd like to hear when entering the pearly gates (assuming they'll let me in).
Talk Talk's sublime "I Believe In You" (Spirit of Eden) is a nice advance on another sublime TT track, "I Don't Believe In You" (The Colour of Spring):

For me there are no pearly gates. We're all already here. This song is so beautiful it smarts. Lisa Germano - SINGING TO THE BIRDS

Here's one I used to describe as being a sort of a British equivalent of "Surf's Up". It's not nice to be laughed at in the street by complete strangers so I shan't be doing that again. This is the gorgeous title track from Procol Harum's 1969 album A Salty Dog:

Thanks jk for the great topic! And to Brian and Bach for creating such beauty Well thank you, ls. Here's something by another B -- Berlioz -- with what to me is one of the most magical moments in all music (first of three times at about 0:50, either side of the switch from "Tour" to "Qu'il"). It works wonders for me if ever I'm feeling troubled.

Okay, this is Brian covered by Elvis, but it's still bliss:

Great stuff, ed. I shall try to post more when this gosh darn heat subsides -- fair knocks one's energy for six it does.

Spiritual enough for a hymnbook entry, but the real reason I'm posting this is that this 1976 George Harrison tune features some very Brian-esque synth bass playing (performed by George himself). I can't listen to this song without thinking of Brian. The synth part kicks in at 1:32.

Extended version of the song from the Eye In The Sky album, featuring the multi-layered voice of the multi-talented, multi-lamented and hugely missed Chris Rainbow.

Speaking of Mr Rainbow, let's not forget:

Ed, have you heard the alternate version of Dear Brian that Chris played around with but probably didn't finish? It's quite a bit shorter, at just under four minutes, than the released song, sharing the same thirty second opening which then erupts into a lovely loping beat almost identical to that of California Girls. There are no lead vocals throughout, only occasional backgrounds over a lush instrumental track that veers into familiar territory towards the ending.
