Another gem from JH. It's fascinating even for a technoramus like me to be taken back aurally to the studios Brian used for this album. Joshilyn makes it all sound so simple! The little on-screen account during playback of the full track is a nice touch, a wonderful way of complementing JH's explanatory dialogue.

www.soundsonline.com/prodrummerI primarily use the kits from this software package that were recorded in Western 3 (what is now called EastWest 3.) It's not perfect, no drum sample/player/VST is, but I do feel like the mojo of it being recorded in that room helps it along.

Thanks for the link. 👍🙂 It’s great to see you are a Logic Pro user, that’s what I use! Those Universal Audio plug ins look very tasty. Cheers again for the entertaining and informative videos.

Excited for the Bull Session episode, can we expect you to put together a full recreation of the track?

Thanks for another fascinating video. Like jk I really enjoyed the commentary at the end; very interesting thoughts about the disconnect between the instrumentation and the vocal elements. I suppose that’s something that a musical ignoramus like me perceives subconsciously as part of the emotional effect of the song but it’s really cool to have someone explain and analyze how it works. Yes please to your recreation of Pet Sounds as if only the band members played on it! 🙂
