Somehow I missed voting this round. Would have picked "Pom Pom Playgirl", anyway.

We're back to vote out your least favourite So-Cal inspired Lifestyle song, in the last round showcasing the original tribes.
I'm taking out Carl's Big Chance, where, imo, this usually stellar guitarist kinda blows said big chance on a slightly groovey but merely ok tune.

Ah shoot. This is what happens when you don’t check on this board and are busy with a Genesis board. I miss stuff! No worries I’ll be back on a somewhat regular basis. I’ve been caught red-handed! Oh dear. I’ll contribute more I promise!!

The line about wishing to do some homework in "...Bugged..." has always perplexed me.

I like "CBC", mainly because of the droning saxes (presumably Steve on tenor and Jay on baritone). This was presumably Brian's idea, and I’m not sure he ever repeated it.
"Bugged" bugs me much much more...

I've always loved "I'm Bugged at My Old Man". The live one with his brothers is top. Did you ever think you would see him do it live? I didn't.
I'm voting for "Carl's Big Chance", and maybe a couple more before giving up on life with the bugged.

The line about wishing to do some homework in "...Bugged..." has always perplexed me. I laughed out loud the first time I heard, "they gave me some bread crumbs, and a little glass of water..." That was in 1965. But I want to hear about his later lifestyle. I'm a Brian '76 fan.

I'm bugged Brian coughed trying to hit the high notes on my favorite line. All he needed was a glass of water and another take.
EDIT: And, I just noticed he is wearing the same outfit as in my avatar. But his hair is longer. Must have got a haircut for the Tv Special! Was Brian willin' to do anything to make it work, or what?

Don't see how they could tour with Phil in the shape he's in. Genesis was one of the greats. Saw them many times, and Mike's band, once. What's the link to the board?

I forgot to say in my reply to your "Obscure Albums" post that I saw Genesis perform in their very early days. It was at the Melody Maker Poll Awards Concert in late September 1972. All I can remember of the music is that they ended with "The Return Of The Giant Hogweed". I also recall that at one point Peter Gabriel left the stage and a short while later reappeared wearing a dress and a fox's head! www.ukrockfestivals.com/pollwinners-9-30-72.html

Let's get back to the Beach after an unforeseen little hiatus due to tech issues - it's cool now! - time to ride the waves one last round before we start to merge tribes.
I'm giving Hawaii the old aloha-nui this time, while a favourite for some, I find this very simply structured little song borders on the annoying despite it's brevity. Terrible vocal from the vintage Mike, sounding like he was still getting over the cold he suffered on Catch A Wave.

Wow, A -- it's good to be back on this stretch of the beach! "Stoked" gets my vote this time round. Although it's fine as part of SUSA's "sea of instrumentals" it sounds a bit wishy-washy on its ownsome.

I do like Stoked but it’s “just” a surf instrumental. The Beach Boys excelled at everything they lent their harmonies to, and that’s where my voting begins.

Say, Stoked choked this round and has been consigned to the great Break in the sky.
Come back soon for the final car song vote before the 4 tribes are merged!

Here we go! One last drive before the tribes merge!!!
I'm pushing Cherry Cherry Coupe off the stoy-l'ahoy - the charming energy of it's Land Ahoy origins now bled from the rubber dual chrome fuel line as Mike and the club's robotic vocals shut things down to 1 oh oh, matching the clunky timing of the instrumental track relaxing the accelerator.

Betsy’s mechanic still hasn’t fixed the timing, it’s off!

I have nothing against any of them, so once again I'm going for "Ballad of Ole' Betsy", thanks to that wonky harmony at the end of the stereo version.
Ole' habits die hard. *cough*

CCC. It’s great but it’s a great dirge, slow off the line even with the pedal to the floor. Like starting out in top gear and never getting there.

I went with "Cherry Cherry Coupe" for the same reason Alan and John did. Goes nowhere.
